The Writers Guild of America has announced their nominations for 2012. Let’s just say it’s a bad world out there.

The awards, which recognize achievements in the writing of US TV, radio, news and animation, weren’t afraid to show their love for the AMC hit drama Breaking Bad. The show snagged five nominations; the most nominations for one TV show this year.

The beloved sitcom Modern Family also earned bragging rights, laughing its way to four nominations in comedy categories, including best series.

The Mindy Project and Nashville, two of my new favorite shows of the television season, were both deservingly nominated in the new series category. If either wins, I’ll be such a proud parent.
